7.4.5 is affected, and 7.4.6 is the first 7.x release with the fix. The advisory's range < 7.4.5 leaves 7.4.5 out. The compare view from v7.4.5 to v7.4.6 lists two commits: the release commit and cefccbac, the 7.x fix commit this advisory links.

Just before it was replaced on 2026-10-01, the CVE record also put the fix at 7.4.6: cvelistV5 at 8681b2f3 has the title "webpack-dev-middleware before 7.4.6 and 8.3.0 Path Traversal via Non-Slash-Terminated publicPath". The version after it describes a zlib heap buffer overflow.
